I have so much to share! I really do!  Hopefully tomorrow or Monday I can update you!!  Then again, why not wait until Tuesday for her 1 week birthday?

We had our first bath today...as you can see below, baby girl doesn't care for cleanliness...

BESSIE IS HERE!

2/23 was the date!  Induced at 7am, Started pushing at 8pm and she came out at 8:56pm!  6lbs, 7oz and 20" long.

There is of course more to tell, but I'm trying to update everyone at once and I'm running out of time before a certain someone wakes up.  More later!

WEEK 41 - ready or not, she's coming out

WEEK 40: WOLF! TIGER!

Hi Everyone!

Since Thursday I've been having fun with contractions.  Real ones.  Not mamby-pamby Toni Braxon-Hicks contractions, we're talking feels-like-I'm-being-split-open ones.  I feel so badly for Zach.  He hasn't had a decent night's sleep since Wednesday.  I realize we're never going to sleep again after she comes out, but I'd like for at least one of us to sleep through the night leading up to her arrival!

Anyway, we've been 15 minutes apart for 4 hours on three different occasions, but they always slip back in to wonky intervals after that.  I honestly thought Sat night/Sun morning we were about to go when I had 3 that were 10 minutes apart, but no dice.  I blame watching re-runs of Arrested Development.  I think that's what slows them down.  I'm switching to Always Sunny for the rest of this pregnancy!

So, yes, I've cried "wolf!" and now people are pretty disappointed to see me at work today.  Hey - YOU'RE disappointed?  How do you think I feel??  I'm the one still at work, still having contractions (and contractions at work are FUN! let me tell you!) AND she's still inside of me.  However, I think she's moved down because I can now balance cups on my stomach and use a straw with no hands.  I took a picture, and I hope to have it posted on here soon!

Bessie!   We just want to meet you!!  Even Sophie Dog paces your room at night.

Good news, not only did she obey my command and NOT come out on Valentine's Day (and I couldn't be happier for her.  I've spared her a lifetime of corny romantic comedies and wearing pink sports jerseys) but Sunday was the start of the Lunar New Year - THE YEAR OF THE TIGER!  Roar!

Well, the due date is Wednesday, the 17th, and if we hang in, then we're being induced on the 23rd.  I have no idea if next week's post will be SHE'S HERE!  or SHE'LL BE HERE TUESDAY but either way, we're so excited!!  Zach likes to get up close to my belly and say, "BABY! COME OUT!"

WEEK 39: JUST DON'T COME OUT WHEN I'M WATCHING "LOST"

Oh, Hi Everyone!

Nice work on submitting your picks last week.  I have some bad news for everyone after 2/24 - and I have some good news for me...

If by our next appointment on 2/16 she hasn't come out yet, the induction date will be set for 2/23.  This doesn't mean she can't come out any time between now and the 23rd, but that is going to be our last day!

Can you believe it??  Our little girl's birthday is sometime between now and 2/23!!  (which I will accept, even if it IS on a Tuesday, which is a Lost day.)

This week's trick: running her knuckles along the side of me while I try to sleep grinding in to the mattress.  She's a special little BNut.

Also, we now have some very organzied cupborads.  Nesting?  Mayhaps...

WEEK 38 - TIME FOR WAGERS

Not too much change.  We've made 'progress' the last two check ups, and I'm excited to see what Wednesday's appointment brings.  Last night there were many painful shenanigans for me, but ultimately, nothing consistent and nothing past 6:30am.  So, back to the drawing board.

Now is a good time to place your bets.  We'll know a lot more on Wednesday (hopefully more 'progress') but I'm guessing we're not meeting her this week.  Below are some predictions.

*I picked 3/1 because I have always been an obnoxious a-hole about March 1st.  I like to pretend it's the first day of spring and annoy people with "no-matter-what-snow-we-get-it-can't-last-much-longer-now" kind of optimism.  (And no one likes a Pollyanna.  That would be just my punishment)
